My review for Victor Frankenstein was great and I saw it from start to finish and this was the best Frankenstein movie of all time. While ‘Victor Frankenstein‘ flirts with this idea by giving Victor and Igor a form of X-Ray vision the movie doesn’t do anything exciting with it. An early draft of the script (released online) shows how Victor uses this in an early fight scene but, like most elements of that draft, it has not wound up in the finished film. For its first three-quarters, Paul McGuigan's "Victor Frankenstein" is more gothic-era adventure than it is horror film. A spry, uptempo, and winkily charming observation of Shelley's monster maker and his assistant, the film combines contemporary energy with two-centuries-old designs.
